- Honey contains vitamins and minerals: sugar does not. Honey contains calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, folate, choline amongst others.
- Honey has a lower GI level than sugar making it a healthier choice for your blood sugar levels. But honey varieties differ in their GI level. Yellow box honey is a good option with a GI of 35
- Sugar, is highly processed, while honey has only one processing step.
- Honey is sweeter than sugar, due to it's high level of fructose, so you need less honey: about half the amount.

This is way too much honey, you only need a little unless you are a very active sportsperson.
